Challenging

A very opportune moment to observe my first snow falls! 2224m up susten pass and the weather has been, shall we say, inclement.

Oh! MAn – that seems to be some serious snow. Have you got a neck warmer thingie? I don’t mean to sound American, but isn’t Switzerland in the NOTHERN hemisphere? ie 2 weeks past SUMMER solstice? Do you stand by your previous claim of the weather being normal?

Can you go to a supermarket and find out if all the cheese has those holes please? Can you get Jarlsberg for less than 17AUD/kg? What about the watches. Seen any wizend guys with tiny screwdrivers tinkering with some yet?

Ask a few people if they know why the Red Cross somehow inverted the Swiss flag and plainly just scammed the design. Then tell me what they tell you about it. And what is with that not being in wars thing… and if I spell out my middle name carefully for you VEYSEY can you open me a bank account there?

I’m feeling a little jet lagged myself despite not having moved more than 60km in the past week, so I’m going to take a well deserved, vaguely depressed that Sch has 10/11 slumber.

PS now I’ve seen it all – a lady and her mother at work today on the phone to the husband measuring the height of a shelf box. Telling him 35 high with absolutly NO comprehension of the difference between inches and centimeters that are marked on either side of the tape. Really. Wow. Live and learn I say…

Hey what spirits do they drink there?

I think the red cross is SUPPOSED to be an inverted “take-off” of the Swiss flag because it was started by the Swiss…
